{ Daily Snapshot }: Welcome to the family Fridgie

Fridgie

August 6:

Meet fridgie. She is our very first refrigerator, we bought her last Monday. My gesh. I didn't know it's that hard to find yourself one that you like. There are a lot in the market and every sales rep out there tells you their brand is the best. (dapat lang ano). Good thing hubby was there to discuss with me what we need and what we can actually afford.

What I like about Fridgie is that she is 8 cu ft perfect for our new home, her color is elegant and she's low maintenance when it comes to cleaning her exterior. You can even use your hand in wiping it and it goes shiny again. (clap clap)... And she's no frost. (another clap clap) meaning, there's no need for me to defrost. But you know what I like best about her is that she has an ice twister. (don't laugh) What can I say, I'm fan of ice. Super. I like my drinks super cold except for my coffee of course.

Oh and Fridgie's shelves are arrangeable  it has that shelves system where you can easily divide the shelves according to how big you are going to put in. So its very roomy. The only problem we have now is what to put inside hahahahha.....

Now, what to put inside?

If you want to read reviews about her just click here.

{ Daily Snapshot }: PFFFFT!!!

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?

I know I'm no expert when it comes to boxing but the fight between Manny and Bradley, declaring Bradley as the winner, was a scam. I was dumbfounded. It was disappointing. REALLY! Sickening to the stomach. My first thought was, are we being Punked!

Clearly, Manny won the game. No doubt about that. Belt or no belt, he won the game. I am no expert but I have a very good functioning eye that can tell who punched more and who hugged more. If boxing is all about who threw HUGS more then by all means give the belt to Bradley.

Why Why, making such a fool out of us. I'm sure it made a few gamblers happy but millions of people heartbroken. They say the only way to beat a champ is by beating him. There's no beating that happened that night. None. NADA.

Whatever rottened agenda the people behind this planning, its ruining boxing. Haist!

I commend how Pacman took the judges decision. You are truly a winner.

My thoughts XOXO,
PhoebeCarla

Daily Snapshots: Motherhood. What have you done to me?

Mother's Day 2012

Being a Mother changed my life in so many ways. And I thought about what life used to be without Sophia and these are the few changes I've observed through the whole 2 years of being a Mom.
  • In fairness to me, I've always been a very thoughtful and loving person but I didn't know that by being a mom I COULD LOVE THIS MUCH. That I still have this much love to give. It's crazy. You don't account who loves more and how much love you have already given, you just love. Love. Love. Period.
Now the meaning of unconditional love is crystal clear to me.
  • I miss shopping for myself. And I realized that it's never going to happen again. If I shop for myself, I always end up shopping for me, hubby and Little S.
Heck, it's even easier to decide purchasing things for Little S, than going for my indulgence.
  • I've become a constant thinker and worrier. I can't help it. I'm always thinking about Hubby and Sophia's care 24/7.
  • I now prefer to wear flat and comfy shoes.
  • I've become so emotional about kids and families. One time I remembered watching a coke commercial here, I was crying for like 3 minutes. Promise, I got so affected by the commercial.
But those changes are only few and minor, compared to the wonderful gift of being a MOTHER. I wouldn't trade my everyday kiss and hug from Sophia, I wouldn't trade the joy she gives me every day. True, Mauryy completes me and with Sophia she keeps us WHOLE.

I play a lot of roles, from being a wife, a friend, a sister and a daughter. But Being a MOTHER is the BEST role I love to play.

{ Daily Snapshot }: Visiting Carmella

February 5:

Sophia is still sick, but at least today she's a bit better. We visited our humble (empty)  house again bringing take out food from Jollibee, ate there played a little and daydream about how we want this house to become a warm home for the three of us. We are slowly building our dreams to reality.

{ Daily Snapshot }: Separation Anxiety

January 9:

In the car on the way to work, I can't shake off Sophia's tiny sharp voice shouting and crying my name asking me and Maury not to work, her face full of tears always breaks my heart. (the pains of a working mom). BUT today was different, I hugged her and told her like other days,
"Baby mommy is going to work, be a good girl ok. I'll be back soon. I will call you"
I was somehow expecting the cry and whining and the death defying grip "don't go mommy" but to my amazement,
"ok ma, take care." with tight hugs and kisses.
Up to now, I'm smitten. Sure? was that really Pia? I had to check twice. It was really her. She is growing up too fast. :(

{ Daily Snapshot }:Happy Sunday

January 8:

Went to hear mass at 5:30 am at Sto Nino de Basilica. Though, there were hundreds of us in there, the mass was still solemn and as always it gives me goose bumps. Me and Maury are devotees, and I have lots of stories to tell when it comes to me and my Nino and I'm going to share with you in my other post.

{ Daily Snapshot }: Ann's 30th Birthday

January 7:

Ann and I have been friends since 2007. And since then we've became really close and brought us to this moment where we decided to be business partners.

She's one of my closest and trusted friend, I wish her nothing but pure happiness and I wish she would finally find  the true love she's been waiting for and she deserves. The rest, she can get for herself if she put her heart into it.

Happy Birthday Anne. That means one month from now, it's going to be my turn. Yikes. We talked about celebrating it on January 21 para tipid hahaha.... But of course, I still got the birthday girl her birthday cake.

Its going to be SINULOG next week. Cebu is on party mode already... PIT SENYOR!

Let's all have a great week.

{ Daily Snapshot }: Five Minutes Princess Story

January6

I love to read book but not as much as they do. Before bedtime, daddy reads Sophie a book, their  fave book to date , Five Minutes Princess Story, a gift from Ninang Serene.

What I like about this book is that it has all the Disney Princess Stories, easy to read to toddlers and it has great visuals to go with it. Sophia loves it and I love it too. I'm a self confess Princess Story addict.

{ Daily Snapshots}: Fruity Macaroni LeftOvers

January4

I was dumbfounded to see left overs of the Fruity Macaroni Salad I made for New Year. Either no one likes what I made (try and try until you perfect it) or because they were too many food for the holidays that's why there still left overs. I'd really like to think the latter.

I told hubby I want to be serious about learning how to cook and he was very supportive about it. Now, if the year ends and I still don't know a thing or two the blame is all on me. (pressured)

Anyways, if you're curious about how I made Fruity Macaroni, here's how I did it. HERE.

Sophie's Style: Off to Punta Rizal

pose before leaving for Punta Rizal

Little S visits my Aunts, Uncles and cousins at Punta Rizal every weekends it has been like that since she was months old. You see we are a very close family, our Lola Tacing when she was still alive always ask us to gather every week and it has become more or less a habit and a tradition to us. Even our cousins who are already miles away, we will have a chat conference once a week or once in awhile to catch up on each others lives.

I so love our big family.

Anyways, this is what Sophia wore last weekend when she stayed overnight at Punta Rizal. Which explains her absence here.

This terno batique was given to her by Wowa Ecky, it came in three pairs with different colors and designs. I think this is a costumize terno and it has been my favorite to wear for Sophie. And when it's comfy and soft, I always give it a 2 thumbs up, irregardless of brand.

We waited for JM and Tito Carl to come and pick her up, Sophie was restless already and getting tired, so I told her to prepare her bag and her things.

Listing her things to bring, which is not much since she has her own wardrobe, diapers, and sets of milk and bottles there. BONGACIOUS Sophia. They can snatch her anytime. hmph.

Now packing her things inside her new Minnie Mouse bag given as a Christmas gift from her ninang, which she loves and brings around everywhere she goes....

I love love her new bag. First because it's Minnie and because its ooooh so Pink... I love it. As in.

Now all ready and set to go.

Bye... So "donya" my baby hehehe :)

When I took a picture of Little S shoes, I realized she needs a new pair. Her most trusted, and loved slippers is already small for her. :( I am so sad. I really like this slipper pa naman because its very comfy and durable. Time to buy her feet a new friend.

Sophie's Style:
Terno: a gift from Wowa Ecky
Hair: Side ponytail by yours truly :)
Bag: Minnie Mouse
Shoes: Crocs

{ Daily Snapshot }: At Dr. Sy's Clinic

January 2

Sophie was patiently waiting for her turn to have her Booster at Dr. Sy's clinic. This was taken before she received her immunization still so happy, eating her crackers, clueless on what's going to happen next.

When she  finally had her turn, she didn't cry when the needle was injected but cried while expelling the contents, I think because it stings.

Being the one injected is another thing but watching your child cry because of fear and pain is more painful and you feel helpless. It's heartbreaking because you cant do anything about it coz it's for her own good.

But I'm very proud of her. I remember when I was young my mom being a nurse is always the one who administers  our immunization and it will take her 3 hours of chasing me and bribing me with food and toys before we could get it all done. And yes I cried my lungs out the whole time like a pig ready to be lechoned. Lol. BUT my little Sophia is braver she cried, yes, but just stayed still and endure it.

Before we leave she even  waved and kissed Dr. Sy goodbye and on our way out the door she said "enkyou doc" (thank you Doc). *smartgirl*

{ Daily Snapshot }: Our First 2012 Family Picture

Now that it's 2012,  I want to make a daily snapshot of our life. All for making good memories. I am the writing a diary kind of person and reading my past always renew me in so many ways, makes me laugh, makes me cry, makes me very grateful for all the blessings and the lessons I learned a long the way. Makes me travel once again to the life I once had and gives me a clear vision of the road I want to take.

Fast forward on the eve of 2013. I will once again read all 366 snapshots of 2012. Really crossing, hoping and praying I will be able to finish this project.

First thing we did as soon as we woke up the morning of 2012, we gathered and took our very first family picture for the year.

Notice how Sophia is just wearing her nappies and how uncomposed we all look like but never the less happy and excited for the year and whatever is in store for us.

Happy New year you all.

Hope you enjoyed our family portrait as much as we enjoyed doing it. And we are going to make it a tradition.

Weekly Snippets: Sophia Flower Girl for the First Time

Finally they did it.

You know how some people say long time relationships always end up breaking, well Jet and Lloyd are one of the few couples who prove that saying wrong. They have been girlfriend and boyfriend for seven years since college time and I've witnessed how their love grew and how they grow in love with each other.

I remembered that was June of this year, Jettie texted me saying Lloyd just proposed to her and she asked me to be her secondary sponsor (cord) and Sophia to be one of her flower girls, without thinking of course I said YES! I couldn't say no to one of my best girlfriends. She has been my trusted ally and we've been friends for more than 10 years. Actually, she was my first friend in college. I love this couple and so I said yes. And I was very excited for Sophia who's going to be a flower girl for the very first time.

The three of us flew to General Santos then traveled to Koronadal to be there for the couple. Just the three of us and a few good friends from college.

It was such a beautiful wedding. Everyone had a great time. Sophia most especially because she found new friends, and wearing her dress she always say "WOW" non stop. This little girl got taste. She was suppose to have a headress but she threw it away. So, no head dress.

Before the ceremony started, Maury talked to Sophia again they had the same conversation about bringing flowers from the door to Jesus. I saw Sophia practicing bringing her basket saying "Walk walk walk"  while she walks down the aisle.

THAT was before the people came in. But when the real procession of the entourage happened, she was ready to walk until everyone saw her and took pictures and exclaimed "wow pretty baby, so cute", she started walking backwards.... She wouldn't walk with Daddy and asked for Mommy, so I came running back to the church door after I walked for the secondary sponsor, meaning, I rampa twice... lol

The cord bearers: Dr. Gail and Me. Partners at La Clinica Dental,  Secondary sponsors. He is one of my bestfriends and one of the few permanent person in our lives (Maury and Sophia's too)

Little S was so cute with the other flower girls and kids in general. She was very friendly and sweet, sometimes the kids were already bullying her, she still is clueless. She would look up to me and say, "Mommy friends" after a kid was trying to push her. I was like, my God anak.

In the reception, she made a new friend with a Tagalog girl, Sophia is Bisaya, so I don't know how they got along but they did. Instantly, like bestfriends. They were running, dancing and twirling. That's what so amazing about kids right? :)

Here's a peep on the wedding decors, so lovely.

Mommy/ yaya and Sophie

Sophie and her Daddy/ Body Gaurd

I love love weddings... The feast, the colors and the kilig moments. Don't you?

Cge got to go na, with our top down BMW... (wish ko lang) hahahaha... Anyways, Sophia's already booked as a flower girl for next year. She has two booking already. I got to start dieting na, after the holidays, Sophia and I will be flower girls again. (waaaaah) Good Luck to me.
Me to Sophia: "Practice practice practice walking on your own anak. Phuleeeeeeeez. Pretty please."
Congrats again Jettie and Lloydie...

Happy Holidays Everyone.

Weekly Snippets: Christmas Party at 1521

"Family always comes first, second to God of course, And every week, I'll save a day to share about our week. I know someday Little S will thank me for this one.And I know someday I will love myself for making this one. You are always welcome to come and visit. And maybe drop some love along the way"  :)

After Maury's Christmas party the other week, last week our clinic had ours last December 15 at 1521 inside SMB Complex.

It has been two years since the last time I attended our party and I'm glad I did this year because I had an awesome time meeting other colleagues from GSMI and SMB Medical team.

Weekly Snippets: Maury's Company Christmas Party

I know someday Little S will thank me for this one.And I know someday I will love myself for making this one. You are always welcome to come and visit. And maybe drop some love along the way"  :)

Christmas parties have officially begun... Ding ding ding a Ling Dong...

Last Saturday December 10, we went to attend Maury's Christmas Party at Imperial Palace with his officemates and their families. I had a great time meeting everyone once again, after all we get to gather just twice in a year, on summer outing and Christmas party.

Weekly Snippets: Three Happy Feet

"Family always comes first, second to God of course, And every week, I'll save a day to share about our week. I know someday Little S will thank me for this one.And I know someday I will love myself for making this one. You are always welcome to come and visit. And maybe drop some love along the way"  :)

OMG! I almost forgot how it felt like to go shopping, like really shopping for me. Since I gave birth to Little S I was preoccupied with motherhood, I worry about what she wears, what she eats and even the little tiniest things that concern her. I strive to be the best MOTHER for her. And because God gave me such a wonderful man, I also want to be the best WIFE. I simply want to be the BEST for the two loves of my life. Learning all things domesticated consumed me. Really. Even plucking my eyebrows was the least of my long list of  "to-dos".

But last weekend Maury was extra extra sweet and noticed all my loving efforts for our little family and brought me shopping. I was hesitant at first thinking about the money we could save if we don't buy. But he insisted. He said I deserve more. That brought tears. Kalami sa feeling. As in. ( what a great feeling). I thank God for Maury.

But as I said, I still feel guilty about buying for me and not buying for hubby and baby. So We all bought three new pairs of shoes. Motherhood made me selfless. I can't help it.

Here's what each of us got.

Weekly Snippets: Isiah Joseph and I want a new pet

"Family always comes first, second to God of course, And every week, I'll save a day to share about our week. I know someday Little S will thank me for this one.And I know someday I will love myself for making this one. You are always welcome to come and visit. And maybe drop some love along the way"  :)

Yesterday the K family went to attend my friend Ate Wilvette's son's baptism. Ate Wilvette is like a sister to me, her family and mine are so close that sometimes it feels like we are family too. This is  the first time I get to see Isiah Joseph because when Ate Vet gave birth to him I was having a bad sore eyes that lasted for weeks.

So there, I asked hubby to take a photo of me and baby Isiah.
