{ Daily Snapshot} : Roller Coster Ride

I havn't blog for days... that's because the last few days was a roller coaster ride for us. It's a combination of fun, draining, scary and exhausting 4 days.

Really.

Last Friday we ended the week with a party. It was my godson Liam's 2nd birthday. Me and Sophia were the first guest to arrive and the last to go. After she murdered the birthday cake leaving it icing less hahahahaha...

Oh... and it was my older brother's birthday too. I can't believe Kuya is already 35. Happy Birthday kuya Cocoy Martin :)

We went home late that night and woke up early to finish hubby's project for school. He is making a model boat. Yes he took Naval Architecture last June on top of him working full time as a ship surveyor/ Mechanical Engineer, so its basically crazy hectic for him, thus me too.... I already volunteered to typing this book he has to submit before Oct 19. When he asked me to help him solder the wires for his boat, hindi ko carry. Thanks to Regan who took soldering class is TESDA for helping.

They finished the skeleton at 2:30. Grabe we started making it at 6 am and at 2:30 its still a skeleton boat. Anyways, finish or unfinished we had to go meet up with his professor so he could submit the blueprint and etc.... and instead of submitting the model boat, we just showed him the skeleton boat and asked for an extension. "A" for AaEffort!!!!

Anybody here been to downtown CEBU? If you plan to go, Please don't wear or bring anything precious, Hubby's school is situated there and we had to park a little farther because getting a parking space there is very challenging. We walked a few meters to his school when somebody grabbed my right shoulder and grabbed my necklace. My 20 year old necklace.

Until now, I'm still a bit shaky with the whole experience. How I wish I didn't notice my necklace gone, how I wish he didn't have to grab my shoulder. It was  a very bad experience. And up to now, It still haunts me ...

Good thing, I have this cute little girl. Seeing her sleep gives me PEACE and SERENITY.

BAD NEGATIVE VIBES!!!! Please go away!!!!

Monday, was an abundant day. I thank God.

I don't want to dwell anymore about that very unfortunate event, even though it still is hard to forget. I learned my lesson well and in the hard way that is. I will dwell more on the POSITIVE and the blessings God has showered me.

Have a blessed week you all. Be safe. Stay away from Snatchers :)

{ Daily Snapshot }: Little S Progress Card

September 14:

Me and hubby went to surprise Sophia by picking her up in school since hubby didn't have to go to the shipyard last Friday. He wanted to have a lunch date with her girls. And we thought that sneaking a little quality time together is a good idea since we've been very busy with work the couple of weeks ago. The date was such a good timing because it happened to be the day that Sophia's report card will be given to parents and boy, were we surprised and happy to see how well she did in school. We know that she's a little advance for her age and can really converse with paragraphs now and how excellent her comprehension is, but seeing it in writing and in record made it more official.

Sophia is just 2 years old and 5 months now, and the youngest in her class. Some parents tells us, its too early to send her to school and few months ago I would say the same thing. I never wanted her to go to school as early as 2, I even wanted her to go to school when she's 4 or 5 yrs old maybe. But because she was getting shy around kids and practically don't know how to associate with them worried us. That's why we sent her to school for that particular reason. To just hang out with other kids. Learn. Play.

I know, she's just in Nursery and this card won't even show up in her transcript and maybe to some this isn't such a big deal. But to me and hubby it is such a GREAT DEAL because this is our little girl's achievement. Our achievement as well. And we are so proud of her.

Her teacher told us to read books to her more because she loves books. I'd say reading to her while she was still inside my womb, and up to this moment before bed time paid off. Now, I need new ones because she knows all her stories too well....

I'm going to the bookstore this week and buy her a new good book as a reward, do you know any good books for toddlers? Please do share. :)

{ Daily Snapshot }: Lunch Date with Bessie

With wonderful people: Curly Ping and Debbie, and Justin

September 15

I had a lunch date with Ping, Debbie and  Justin yesterday. It was so nice to see old friends again. We were basically just catching up with everybodys lives and reliving the good old college days. It's also a nice coincidence to see Justin who is having a 2 week vacation from Canada, the last time we saw him was 2005.

The last time I saw Pinky was last March when we had the trip in Dakak. I miss her so much. More than being one of my bestfriends, she is like my sister. We were roomates in college, and spent most of our college time together, bad times were bearable because we had each other to lean on but mostly we had so many good memories together.

Though we don't get to see each other that much, Iligan is just too far away from Cebu, I'm glad we built SOLID friendship through the years and I am positive that nothing can break that friendship.

I love you twin, till our next date on December.

xoxo,

{ Daily Snapshot }: Welcome to the family Fridgie

Fridgie

August 6:

Meet fridgie. She is our very first refrigerator, we bought her last Monday. My gesh. I didn't know it's that hard to find yourself one that you like. There are a lot in the market and every sales rep out there tells you their brand is the best. (dapat lang ano). Good thing hubby was there to discuss with me what we need and what we can actually afford.

What I like about Fridgie is that she is 8 cu ft perfect for our new home, her color is elegant and she's low maintenance when it comes to cleaning her exterior. You can even use your hand in wiping it and it goes shiny again. (clap clap)... And she's no frost. (another clap clap) meaning, there's no need for me to defrost. But you know what I like best about her is that she has an ice twister. (don't laugh) What can I say, I'm fan of ice. Super. I like my drinks super cold except for my coffee of course.

Oh and Fridgie's shelves are arrangeable  it has that shelves system where you can easily divide the shelves according to how big you are going to put in. So its very roomy. The only problem we have now is what to put inside hahahahha.....

Now, what to put inside?

If you want to read reviews about her just click here.

{ Daily Snapshot }: Our School Girl

July 9:

Finally I get to take a picture of Sophia in her uniform.

She isn't really required to wear one since she's still in Nursery Junior but I want her to fit in so I got her a pair of uniform. Most days, she just wears civilian. She wears clothes of her choice, most of the time she wants to wear pink so right now she's running out of pink clothes hahahaha....

{ Daily Snapshot }: Potty Trained

July 1:

Sophia isn't full pledged potty trained yet. I blame it on my hectic schedule. Sometimes when she's already awake before we leave for work, I take of her nappies and bring her to her chair to pee. But most of the time she's still asleep, you see me and hubby wake up at 5 am getting ready for work and leaves at 6:30, so most of the time Sophia is still asleep.

But Today is different, she woke up same time we did and demanded to be taken to her potty trainer because she wants to pee.

I just stared at hubby in amazement.

{ Daily Snapshot }: Bear Bank

Meet Greenie. She is my bear bank.

Six more months to go before Christmas, can you believe it? I'm already preparing for gift giving funds. That's where Greenie comes handy. She will be holding 5 and 10 peso coins for that purpose. I know I should have started January, hopefully I will be able to make Greenie full and fat by November so I can make a lot of people happy right?

Are you guys, getting ready for the happiest season of the year already? Care to share some tips?

{ Daily Snapshot }: Kikay Set

The best thing about having a baby girl is like having a walking, alive doll. You can dress her up, make her hair, we mother's can relive our childhood days. Yeah?

Thank you Tita Susan and Tita Nina for the wonderful gift you gave Sophia. It not only made her happy, it made me giddy happy too. I think I was more excited to open it up. Sophia was telling me "Mommy that's mine" hahahaha....

{ Daily Snapshot }: Unnecessary Markings

Kuya Icee got home from school with these marks. An arrow drawn with a pen on his forehead and writings on his right arm that says "Don't forget ur stuff!"

Who made those marks, if you may ask? HIS TEACHER!

Why? because he left his project at home.

My mom and I asked him over and over if it's really his teacher who did that and his answer was always yes. Not that we don't believe him. It's just that I can't believe a TEACHER can embarrass a child like that. She could have called my brother ( Kuya I's father) and tell him that Icee was too irresponsible, forgetful and out of focus and ask if he could follow up and assist him. Or she could have given him a low grade or even a zero grade if she wishes to, or write a note to let his daddy come for Icee's school progress meeting. There could be other better disciplinary action that can be to the child advantage, after all that's why we send our kids to school to be better people, right? But she chose to make unnecessary markings on Icee's forehead and arm.

I asked him, why didn't you erase it?
" Because my teacher will let me stay outside rain if I erase it"
Was she mad at you?
"Yes. She said Tanga gud. It's STUPIDITY"
Icee didn't have his afternoon snacks because he's too embarrassed to  go to the canteen.

OMG! This may not be a physical abuse but this is abuse just the same. To be embarrassed and belittle in front of your classmates is traumatic, we've all been to grade 4 before so we know how it it. Icee will surely remember this forever.

My brother is going to Icee's school today to talk to the principal and the teacher.  I hope She gets the proper disciplinary action from her authority. I hope nothing like this will happen again. I know I wouldn't wish it on anybody's child.

Grabe!

{ Daily Snapshot }: Sophia and Mommy's Adventure

Me and Sophia went to church today, and I'd say this is a memorable moment for both of us. For one, we rode a public transportation just me and her. It is Sophia's first time and I haven't rode a public transportation for a long time already I don't even know how much the fare is, it was like adventure for us. Plus IT'S JUST ME AND HER.

I want her to try riding a public transpo, because I don't want her to grow up maarte like some kids I know. I want her to grow and see the bigger world not the very protected, easy and comfortable life because I love her.

Carry  lang pala. I had exaggerated thoughts while riding the multicab but it's not that bad at all. Sure it's not really that comfortable but it's not that bad din. :)

When she saw the balloons at church she was jumping and shouting "Mommy, Balloons" .

I was suppose to tell her "No anak, we can't buy that today because we will ride a public transpo" ang hirap kaya.

Maybe she saw my worried face, before I can even say a thing she said,
"La money, mommy?"
I just nodded because it's hard to explain about the whole transpo thing and she didn't make kulit anymore.

I laughed and kissed her. So cute my anak. So understanding at her young age.

{ Daily Snapshot }: Father's Day

June 17:

Growing up, I always look up to my dad as my hero. He was someone I can rely on 100%. He was my best buddy who took me to places and made me experience the world. Now that I'm older he is still that man. The man who still loves me like I'm 5 years old.

I guess no matter how old I am or how old he is, he will forever be my Hero and I will forever be her Princess.

I have such a wonderful dad, and I dream nothing less for Sophia.

"Babe,Thank you so much for being just that and more"
Happy Father's Day!

{ Daily Snapshot }: Colors

My two beloved artists, it's been two weeks in a row, every single night they keep drawing and coloring until they tired their selves to sleep

This time daddy drawing an elephant. And according to Sophie she is drawing an airplane. Cge airplane it is. I was excited to join in the fun but Sophie told me "No mommy, Daddy and Pia lang"

Aba anak, I am the one who buys you crayons every week and you won't let me touch it? (emote ang mother)
Sophie handed me my own bondpaper and crayons, and said, "ok mommy, there lang". Meaning she wont let me draw on their  canvas and strictly instructed me to draw on the bondpaper she handed me. I think she got tired of my stick drawings. LOL.

Cge na, hubby draws better than me. But watch out I'm going to practice more so I can beat hubby. Hahahaha (evil laugh). Haaaaaaaaay, wish ko lang.

Actually I had more fun watching them draw they look so adorable together. Maury is such an amazing dad. Sophia is so lucky.

Advance Happy Father's Day, Daddy!

{ Daily Snapshot }: Independence Day/ Slide Day

Happy Independence Day!

I've always wondered how come we don't celebrate it like the Americans do on the 4th of July? Maybe because we aren't that independent yet? Oh well, I'm not even sure about how I feel about it, maybe I should read history more. I'm not a big fan of history,, so I'm going to skip that topic and head on to what happened to us that day.

It was a holiday, so we decided to visit our house, the one we bought 2009 and we were supposed to move in 2011 but we decided not because of a lot of reasons, let's just say we are slowly working the moving in the new house now but for the meantime we just go there weekly to clean it and hang out there for awhile.

We found out that they made a temporary playground for the kids, so we went to check it out.

Sophia got overwhelmed with the presence of a lot of kids, she was happy but she got too shy to join in, I can see the excitement but I can also see a bit of fear in her eyes. It bothered me. Because this is the first time I saw her like this. Maybe because she's surrounded with more adults in the house than kids.

She just stand and stare at the kids playing. She'd only play with the swing and slides when the other kids are not using it. Awang awa ako kay Sophie. It's such a sad sight.  I told hubby not to pressure her and we decided to play with her nlang.

We should bring her more to parks or playmaze to get more interactions with kids her age. I'm going to ask my friends to schedule playdates for our kids too. That should slowly open her up.

Mommies, did u have the same dilemma with your kids? How did she/ he overcomes it?

{ Daily Snapshot }: PFFFFT!!!

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!?

I know I'm no expert when it comes to boxing but the fight between Manny and Bradley, declaring Bradley as the winner, was a scam. I was dumbfounded. It was disappointing. REALLY! Sickening to the stomach. My first thought was, are we being Punked!

Clearly, Manny won the game. No doubt about that. Belt or no belt, he won the game. I am no expert but I have a very good functioning eye that can tell who punched more and who hugged more. If boxing is all about who threw HUGS more then by all means give the belt to Bradley.

Why Why, making such a fool out of us. I'm sure it made a few gamblers happy but millions of people heartbroken. They say the only way to beat a champ is by beating him. There's no beating that happened that night. None. NADA.

Whatever rottened agenda the people behind this planning, its ruining boxing. Haist!

I commend how Pacman took the judges decision. You are truly a winner.

My thoughts XOXO,
PhoebeCarla
