Abaseria

A few weeks ago, hubby asked me out on a lunch date. I wouldn't pass spending a delicious meal with my lovie because having lunch dates with him is almost non existent since his workplace is 2 hours away from the city. So when he asked me out because he was around the clinic's vicinity, I was super duper kilig and happy... hahahaha

We both love Filipino cuisines but hate crowded places, so we decided to dine at ABASERIA which is located at 39-B President Roxas Corner Congressman Noel Streets Villa Aurora Kasambangan Cebu City. When we got there I was surprised that it looked different now, the last time we were there was back 2008, but I love the new renovated Abaseria just the same. It still has it's native Filipino motif, the place is cozy and very homey.

They display a lot of  Filipino goodies from native hats, bags, home accessories to delicacies and if you find one for your liking not to worry because they are for sale.

The food was delicious and the service was great.

I forgot to take note of the prices but we will be going back there soon to try their best sellers, adobong bangus belly, seafood monggo soup, tofu with chilli, Chicken Pork Adobo, Humba Filipino, Baked Ribs with Ginger, and Lechon Kawali.

Ah.... too many to try still we will definitely go soon and have this post updated. :)

Day 4: My Favorite Night

November 21, 2006. The night changed my life forever.

This was our first date, this was also the first time I get to meet Maury in person. It wasn't the first time he asked me though, i turned him down several times because I was scared to fall in love with him although I think I already was. We've been textmates for a year, but I was scared to go on a date with him because deep inside I know it will confirm my deep affection for him and I'm scared of the falling in love getting fooled and hurt process.

Until one night, THAT night, he just came in our doorstep looking for me. He asked my mom first if he could take me to dinner so I have no excuses of not going.

We got to know each other more, and I remember thinking and thanking God for Maury, because deep inside I know he was my answered pray. I asked God to give me a good man, a family, responsible man who  loves me with all his heart. And he gave me just that and more. God really loves me, he just didn't give me all the traits I want in a man he also gave me a good looking one. hahaha... Thank you Papa God.

After our first date, we were inseperable. On that same week he asked me to marry him. He asked me to be his wife even before asking me to be his girlfriend. His fast like that, hahahha....

I DO

Four years ago Our dreams came true.

I can still remember my wedding day like it was just yesterday, the memories are still so clear. I can still remember how I felt walking down the aisle. I can still hear the echo of US exchanging those vows infront of God, infront of our families and friends. We were so inlove that we could promise anything and everything to each other, we can promise the moon and the stars if we would, it was that intense.

Fast forward today, 4 years after. Our promises of commitment have been tested several times, countless times, but each time we've made it through the hurdles still holding hands.

From the start we've been told that it's going to be a bumpy ride, that some couples will make it and that some couples won't. But we made a strong decision right from the start that our marriage is forever.  We've faced all those trials head on and we will face whatever storm coming our way with the same determination four years ago when we uttered those vows. Our strongest weapon and our shield, is God and this thing called LOVE.

Four years down, forever more to go...

Our Family Goals for 2012

Last weekend,  Hubby and I sat down and had a talk about our family, career and personal goals. We have been like this since the start of our marriage, we believe that it takes time to plan a family, and that we make sure we are moving in the same direction. Making each other know about our career and personal goals makes us more understanding and supportive of each other.

Here's our family goal for 2012:

1. We want God to be the Center of our lives.
small goals- Praying together. Giving back to the community, going to church every Sunday and on days of Obligation. Bringing Sophia with us even if it means chasing her all the time, until she gets used to behaving properly during mass.
2. To raise our financial funds. " Simplify and Create Abundance" borrowed from Bo Sanchez. That's what best describe our second goal.
small goals: Learn about money. Tithe. Look for another stream of income so we can provide our needs and be of help to others.
3. To move in our new house. This has a lot to do with goal # 2. Hopefully moving to our new house will be realized this year.

4. Set twice a week Me and Hubby dates. Every week family special day. And two out of town trips. We are strong about making this a tradition, so that we will have many fond memories of our family.

Those are the big ones and the most prioritized ones. The other not so major goals will eventually follow.

We have a notebook where we write our Family goals. And everyday, we make it a point to read it. And pray that God will give these to us.

Our Christmas Through the Years

Looking back at our Christmases together, made me realize how much we've grown and learned from each other. How much we've learned to love and accept each others differences and how much life goals we've made and accomplish for us and our little family.

Here's a glimpse of our past Christmases together. I'll let the picture do the talking.

We've met November of 2006 and was inseparable since then. He asked me to marry him after a month December 2006. It was kilig and scary at the same time. We didn't spend Christmas together at that time because things were happening too fast we needed a little time to think. He spent Christmas in Dipolog with his family.

2007- was already engaged for a year, my dad requested Maury to have our wedding the following year. Maybe daddy was scared too and thought things were just going too fast. But Maury and I didn't mind waiting.

I miss those long neck lol

2008 Now officially Mr and Mrs Kilat. Still in our honeymoon stage. Hoping and praying for a baby.

2009: We were 8 months preggy already. Looking like a balyena but nothing beats the feeling of a soon to be mom. The best Gift Ever.

2010 Maury and I have finally become a Party of Three as our little Bundle of Joy joins us.

Our Christmases together has just began. And it has been more exciting every single year. I thank God for all the blessings. I thank God for giving us Jesus. I thank God for Christmas.

Ten Things I love About Maury

The season has got me shuffling. Doing this and that, this and that... Right now, at this very moment, I  want to daydream about my husband. I miss him.

No he's not away, he's just here but the busy season made me miss him. Like I said everyday I'm shuffling. And parties every week has just began making us too tired to have our usual long conversations.

I got a text from him today, saying he's at work already and he misses me. I miss him too, can't wait for our Gen San trip on Monday.

Warning: This post will be a cheesy post. You are free to skip this post if you want.

Ten Random Things I Love About Maury

1. Eyes
Those beautiful brown eyes.
Now you know, that's what got me attracted to you the very first time we met. And I'm glad Sophia got her eyes from you.

2. Loving and Selfless
I'm so lucky to have you as my husband. You are a good provider and always put my needs and sophia's too before your own.

3. Content
In this materialistic world, you have your own share of wants but I never did hear you complain of the lack of it. You are always contented and never jealous of others. Instead you work hard to earn what you have. You deserve all your achievements and more.

4. Sporty
I love how you love sports, and I love seeing you play. Thanks for all the wonderful adventurous things we do and explore.

5. Musical
Not all sporty guys are good at music too. But you are. I love how you still Harana me with your guitar. I know, I still owe you a new nice one. I so love how talented you are and how you share your God given talents to others.

6. Humble
You always have your feet on the ground. Even with all the achievements you've attained for yourself, that never made you a Boast about it.  I'm proud you are like that.

7. Giver
The less fortunate people always have a soft spot in your heart. I love listening to your dreams of sponsoring children to attend school. Even at times when we only have enough for us, you always find ways to extend help.

8. Honest
You are the most honest person I know, that made it super easy for me to trust you.

9. Faithful and Committed
To me. To our Marriage. To our family.
Thank you for loving and accepting me for who I am.

10. Great Husband and Great Dad
Before I met you, I prayed to God for a wonderful man. A man who is family oriented, responsible, honest and (at the back of my mind, crossing my fingers) and good looking. He gave me you.I'm the luckiest girl.

I had the best dad.
My wish for Sophia is to have no less than the best dad too. Someone she can count on, her hero, her defender, her friend.
God gave Sophia you.

And because you are the man of my dreams, something really nice awaits you for Christmas because I love you and you deserve this.

Merry Merry Christmas Babe. :)

Singapore Escapade Day 1: Celebrating Jerilee's Bday with Style

This is my first post about the Singapore trip Me, Hubby and my girlfriends with their hubbies had last Month. My girls and I, have been friends for a decade now. Hoooray to us! :)

It was a spur of the moment kind of trip, Jerilee and Melissa our two very generous girlfriends who are working in SG already made the booking for us last June because according to them if nobody's gonna do it, then it's not going to happen. And I couldn't agree more. hehehehehe. All we needed to do was pay them... very convenient, right? More convenient because our Itinerary and budget has been made already by the very very organized Jerilee. Too bad Teeny wasn't able to join us because she's as far as OHIO and Serene because she's new to her job and couldn't make a leave ... BOOO YOU Both!!!
BUT because I love you guys, this is for you Coy and Boi. From Me with love. :)

Anyways, back to the trip. This is our Official "we just got here" picture. At Changi airport October 13 around 11+ pm.
We went straight to Jerilee's place to stay for a night. And since it's past midnight, she's officially 30 years old. And she deserves a manyanita from us, straight from Cebu Philippines. :)
As usual, I was the first one to wake up the day after. Took photos of the place and realized, I haven't seen a single detached house. All there is, are towering buildings.

People living in buildings.

It made me think, I wouldn't be able to live here and raise kids. Don't get me wrong, I love Singapore and i love how clean and disciplined the people are, but I'm a lay back kind of person. Who wants to run around the backyard, climbing on trees and play with mud kind of gal. And I want Sophia to experience all of that too.

Jerilee and John's neighbors at AMK
After Brunch at AMK mall we were off to

We were carrying our trollies from Ang Mio Kio which is relatively far from Marina Bay. But we didn't mind at all. We were all excited to go to MBS. :) So off to MTR and Bus Riding.
After the long trip we finally checked in at Marina Bay Sands. And we never want to get out of there. Ever. Staying there is vacation on it's own.

Here's a pic of us girls and the whole gang.
We were suppose to swim at their infinity pool that night but since it was Jerilee's birthday and we were running late for our dinner reservation, we decided to skip it and swim first thing in the morning. ( that would be on my next pose)
Us girls with the birthday celebrant
Instead we went to dinner, walked around Marina Bay, on to helix bridge back to the hotel.
dinner at Acacia. Jerilee's treat :)

waiting for Marina Bay Sands' very own water show

Some of the girls went to the casino curious about how it looks and the 'feel'. I went straight back to the room  because my feet were screaming at me. The night ended up with tequila and lots of band-aid for my achy but happy feet. :)

Marina Bay Sands Singapore

Last month, me, hubby together with my highschool barkada went to Singapore. It was our first out of the country trip, actually it was our first real trip outside Cebu together. oooh Chuchal... hahahaha...

What's even chuchal is us staying at the biggest hotel in Singapore with three hotel towers crowned by the ship-like Sands Sky Park, 2,500 rooms up to the 55th floor.  Marina Bay Sands. We stayed for two days and one night. It was one of the highlights of our trip. I used to browse and google the place and stare at the pictures on the net, and finally I was there. Yehey!!!!
not my picture got it from google. Isn't she gorgeous?

Now here's mine

Once we got inside the hotel... "Hello Luxury"... I had a 5 second mouth gaping moment while my eyes was busy wandering at the very well thought of architecture.

While waiting for our room key, we were entertained by the 2 Mimes. Or was it the other way around? because they sure look like they were more entertained by us. heheheh

Our Suite on the 49th gave us fantastic City view and the best view of the Singapore skyline.

Sands Skypark and Infinity Pool

Observation Deck
One of the world's largest public cantilevers that boasts the view of Singapore.
Fee: Adult $19, Child $13, Senior Citizens $16

From the observation deck, you will see the Merlion, Marina Barrage, Marina Bay Floating Platform, Sentosa, Singapore River, Central Business District, City Hall building, Esplanade, Helix Bridge, HDB flats and islands as far as Batam, Indonesia.

Infinity Pool
We love swimming at their infinity pool, the feeling of swimming on unsafe pool makes it more adventurous, the kind that makes a funny feeling on the stomach. But for reals, it is very safe place to swim.

Our stay at MBS was a vacation on itself. We had a good time, and if I can chance to go back, I'd definitly go.

Dating my Ex-boyfriend

Me and hubby finally got the chance to travel 2 weeks ago. It's been hanging on top of our Dream List for a long time now, it's originally 2 out of towns and 1 out of the country trips. (we wish! well, no harm on dreaming right)

After 3 years of marriage, finally we had it realized... A trip to Singapore.

Marina Bay Sands, our temporary home for our short stay
It was a fun 5 days and 4 nights of  "just us time". It felt like the days when we were still getting to know each other, talking about anything and everything under the sun. Holding hands, hugging, PDA just like boyfriend/girlfriends... It was nice dating my ex-boyfriend again 24/7 for 5 days straight. It was nostalgic in a nice kind of way. :)

We visited and experienced Singapore together, went to Universal Studios and acted like children again. It was a nice way to bond with each other, and in a way it refreshes and rekindle our love. As I said in my previous posts, we always find ways to keep the fire burning and this trip definitely did it.

The only down side of the trip was, leaving our Little girl behind... we missed her a whole lot. Soon when she's bigger and older to appreciate and remember, we will bring her along and that's for sure.
