Fitness Update: Weight Gain/ Weight Loss Update

My last fitness update was almost a month ago. I know I said I'd make a weekly update but I was pretty busy with  a lot of stuffs. And I wasn't so up to it because if you remember my last post here, it was a total failure. The simple steps I made for myself turned out to be not that simple after all.

My relatives were here for a month for our every 2 years reunion. Imagine feast for a month. Sometime in the middle, I decided to give the BSB Project a pause and indulge to the feast because it was too hard to resist and I don't want to feel guilty everytime I feed myself , you know what I mean? Plus, I want to enjoy every moment with my Aunts and cousins.

But maybe I was having too much fun, I weighed myself last July 31and  the 120 lbs became a whoooping 125 lbs! OH MY GOD!

This explained how I felt after. Oh, my God so me.

But I'm so over the depression and the regretting, drinking all the soda and eating all those yummy foods. Last week, I came to my senses and got back to my feet and back to my goals.

I'm weighing myself every Friday from now on and hope to lose a pound a week. I braved myself to the weighing scale earlier today, 122 lbs. YEY!!!! I lose the 3 pounds I gained from two weeks ago. I was sad with the 5 lbs weight I gained but, I'm always looking at the brighter side, 3 lbs off is something to be proud and happy about.

Here's what I did to lose the 3 lbs:

  • Water. I made sure I drink at least a liter everyday. And I stopped drinking anything else except for coffee, I just can't let go but instead of 5 cups I cut it down to 3.
  • 30 Minutes Walk everyday.

Hopefully everything will fall into place. I realized it's so easy to gain weight but so hard to lose some. I need more motivation.

What's your secret? Care to share?

xoxo,
PhoebeCarla

yikes! I'm trying my best to lose some pounds. I'm trying to refrain from over-eating and had to walk at least 30 mins a day.

Seriously, walking made the difference. I lost 3 lbs in just 1 week of 30 minutes walking workout.

this is timely. we had just a pep talk with my office mates about diets. we have tried everything including drinking tea that eventually dehydrate us. Now, we are thinking of aerobics and badminton for fun and health.

This just inspired me! Just by drinking water and walking would spell some difference. I'm not yet overweight but would like to lose some 5lbs at least. THanks for sharing! Good luck to us! - Louise | BC Bloggers Aug.8 Comm Ex

weeehhh.. good for you that you lost a few pounds already. i'm a diet addict myself, since college i think. i skip meals and well i lose weight. by as i get older i realized skipping meals is no longer effective. i don't know why. but keep it up. what ever you are doing if it has results its worth sticking up to.

My greatest weight loss eureka was when I heard somebody say that after the dieting & exercising process, you should not just come out of it with a thinner body that you can show off for a few months but with a healthier lifestyle that can sustain you for life.

2 weeks of strict diet, I lost 1.5kgs but a week of amnesia (on dieting) caused me to gain 2 kgs, waaaaaah!!!!!!!!

That reminds me to step up on my exercises! I've been lax in doing my stretching lately.

I workout at least 4 times a week using Barry's Bootcamp or Turbo Fire. I don't like going to the gym so I just bought these workout videos. I've been doing this for 4 years now. It has become a habit, so whenever I miss working out, my mood is slightly not okay. hihi..My greatest concern now is how to cut junk foods especially chichirya and chocolates! :) Just continue doing it. You are on the right track! :)

It's so hard to lose weight, no? But I'm sure with discipline and a lifestyle change, we'll not be able to just lose weight but also to live more healthily.. :)

Nice post. Water is best when you want to lose weight and also foods rich in fiber.

3 lbs is a good start. Good for you. I am at the borderline. one pound more and i'll be overweight. :(

Wow, 5 cups of coffee a day? Isn't that too much? So you visit the toilet quite often too huh?

Habagat has also caused me to gain some pounds in a matter of weeks I think. But now, I'm back to my routine again of eating healthily. It's hard noh to have a food addiction unlike alcohol addiction for instance, hay...

It happens to me too. I just exercise more after and it comes off again after a week or so. Don't give it a chance to stick to your body :)

Your post reminded me to lose weight myself and to buy a new weighing scale. Hope I could also lose weight before the year ends.

How do you keep track of how much water you drink? I used an App on my iphone called Waterlogged. I record how much water i drink, it also set it to alarm hourly to remind myself to take a sip of water

My secret in maintaining my ideal weight and lithe figure is playing with my two preschoolers. By playing, I mean active fun play. Plus, all the housechores and going up and down our 2-storey apartment keeps me fit and healthy. :D

I think that's the hardest thing to do, to loose weight.
