Koronadal: Greenstate Suite and Mang Gorio Bahay Kainan

This is the first time I've been to Marbel, now changed to Koronadal City. We were booked since October after patiently waiting for Cebu Pacific's promo fare. I was excited since then because first, we are going there to attend Jet and Lloyd's wedding, second it's Sophia's first time to be a flower girl, third me, Maury and Sophia get travel and forth, I get to travel with good college buddies Atoy and Sue who I last saw 2006. So imagine my excitement. :) In fact in the airport lining up for the boarding pass and all, we can't stop to talk and catch up with each others lives.

Greenstate Suite was our temporary house for a short stay of 3 days and 2 nights. We got the matrimonial room while Sue and Atoy had the room with twin beds.

I am a little OC when it comes to cleanliness, especially when it comes to the bed and linens and especially when it come to CRs. Greenstate has my thumbs up for: 

1. cleanliness
2. phone service and cable tvs are working
3. good airconditioning
4. cozy ambience
5. friendly staffs
6. most importantly Free Wi-fi is, love :)

BUT, it has only instant noodles, coffee vending machine, and bottled drinks to offer. Good thing the place is near restaurants so finding  food wouldn't be that hard too. We asked one local staff where we could eat for breakfast and she told us there is a Jollibee nearby and Mang Gorio. We love Jollibee but we've been to almost all Jollibee outlets in Cebu already so we opt to Mang Gorio to try their local pride. 

Mang Gorio Bahay Kainan:

Sad to say I can't say much about their food because we were only there to eat breakfast. I had corn beef , egg and garlic rice and it was deliciously satisfying. I heard they are known for serving Filipino Food. Maybe just like Chikaan sa Cebu and Golden Cowrie. 

I promise to eat there again but for meantime I'll just share few of our pics with you.

It was a nice trip. The kind of trip I've been longing to have away from stressors, a trip with Maury, Sophia and good friends.

3 Days of Daddy, Mommy and Sophia Just US time

We survived our Koronadal trip with just the three of us, minus Ate R. I was worried about this decision of not bringing Ate R with us since it's going to be a long trip from Gen San to Marbel (Koronadal) and we will be bringing bags plus Little S is super energetic already, unlike the very first trip we had last year where she was still 8 months old.

We went there to attend Jet and Lloyd's wedding, both Sophia and I are part of the entourage. II really asked hubby if he's sure about it and if he can handle dressing up Sophia who's going to be a first time flower girl.

And surprisingly he was so SURE. He answered me with a firm SURE. I asked again, he just stared at me... meaning SURE! (waaaaaaaah) he was so sure but I wasn't.

Why hubby is so sure? because the whole time we go out and bring Ate R with us, we ended up doing everything she's suppose to be doing like in the party we attended to recently and we ended up paying for more when we eat at the mall or for entrance fee of something. She's giving me headaches, and I hate it when I always call up her attention " Day oh si Sophia". If it's just easy to find another yaya, I'd do it in a split second but reality is, its so hard to trust somebody to take care of your most precious "possession" your child. So even if I whine and whine we are still keeping her because Sophia loves her and she's affectionate to our daughter too.

For awhile now, we go out just the three of us. But this was the first time we traveled. I tell you, we survived. And we had the greatest three days of JUST US time. 

I've never seen my little girl so happy, she was hugging me the whole time saying "mommy, aaaaahb (love) " and to his dad and to me again. She is such a sweet girl. Just making me more guilty for being a working mom. Even if I rush home everyday after work to spend time with her, and even after a dozen times of phone call a day just to check if she's ok, still I'm guilty for the times I'm not with her. Let me rephrase it, I'm not guilty for being a working mom because I work for her and I'm happy being a Dentist and even though I work I always take care and spend time with her, I'm guilty for the times I'm not around like if she bumps her head and wants some mommy loving, that I'm guilty about. (emo mommy moments)

On the lighter side, if sophia was happy, mommy and daddy were happier spending time together. It was really tiresome, Promise. As in my muscles were aching, I didn't mind chasing my little girl in the reception, I didn't care if I was already out of poise, I didn't care if I didn't carry a nice bag at the party, but I'm just too happy to feel it and I was carrying my very precious tot anyway.

I love taking her, bath, dressing her up, feeding her, talking to her was like talking to a three years old. I had the best conversations with her. She understands, promise. I tell her don't go down or you'll bump your head and she tells me "erful, (careful) mommy?". OO diba? She's only 1 year old and 8 months ha. My baby is amazing.

Hubby is amazing too. The best husband. The Best father goes to him. He is so hands on, I never worry if its only him and Sophia. He knows everything, from shower, diaper change, feeding, to storytelling.

We love every moment of that trip. Everything was in control and in place. According to Hubby, Sophia was even cleaner with just us. She was still energetic but very manageable.

The happiness we felt spending alone time with each other is priceless. With all that assessment, we are already planning for our trips next year. Excited Me. :)

Weekly Snippets: Sophia Flower Girl for the First Time

Finally they did it.

You know how some people say long time relationships always end up breaking, well Jet and Lloyd are one of the few couples who prove that saying wrong. They have been girlfriend and boyfriend for seven years since college time and I've witnessed how their love grew and how they grow in love with each other.

I remembered that was June of this year, Jettie texted me saying Lloyd just proposed to her and she asked me to be her secondary sponsor (cord) and Sophia to be one of her flower girls, without thinking of course I said YES! I couldn't say no to one of my best girlfriends. She has been my trusted ally and we've been friends for more than 10 years. Actually, she was my first friend in college. I love this couple and so I said yes. And I was very excited for Sophia who's going to be a flower girl for the very first time.

The three of us flew to General Santos then traveled to Koronadal to be there for the couple. Just the three of us and a few good friends from college.

It was such a beautiful wedding. Everyone had a great time. Sophia most especially because she found new friends, and wearing her dress she always say "WOW" non stop. This little girl got taste. She was suppose to have a headress but she threw it away. So, no head dress.

 

Before the ceremony started, Maury talked to Sophia again they had the same conversation about bringing flowers from the door to Jesus. I saw Sophia practicing bringing her basket saying "Walk walk walk"  while she walks down the aisle.

THAT was before the people came in. But when the real procession of the entourage happened, she was ready to walk until everyone saw her and took pictures and exclaimed "wow pretty baby, so cute", she started walking backwards.... She wouldn't walk with Daddy and asked for Mommy, so I came running back to the church door after I walked for the secondary sponsor, meaning, I rampa twice... lol

The cord bearers: Dr. Gail and Me. Partners at La Clinica Dental,  Secondary sponsors. He is one of my bestfriends and one of the few permanent person in our lives (Maury and Sophia's too)

Little S was so cute with the other flower girls and kids in general. She was very friendly and sweet, sometimes the kids were already bullying her, she still is clueless. She would look up to me and say, "Mommy friends" after a kid was trying to push her. I was like, my God anak.

In the reception, she made a new friend with a Tagalog girl, Sophia is Bisaya, so I don't know how they got along but they did. Instantly, like bestfriends. They were running, dancing and twirling. That's what so amazing about kids right? :)

Cge got to go na, with our top down BMW... (wish ko lang) hahahaha... Anyways, Sophia's already booked as a flower girl for next year. She has two booking already. I got to start dieting na, after the holidays, Sophia and I will be flower girls again. (waaaaah) Good Luck to me. 

Me to Sophia: "Practice practice practice walking on your own anak. Phuleeeeeeeez. Pretty please."
