Yummy Chicken. Chosun Chicken

Who doesn't love fried chicken?

I've not known any individual who despise it. Me on the other hand, is a fried chicken addict though not as much as when I was a kid, when all I remember having for baon is fried chicken, they used to tease me that I'd grow feathers of too much eating it. 

A few months ago, my younger brother told me that he discovered a new Korean restaurant who sells juicy, yummy, spicy chicken. And recommended me to try it.

There's no better way to do it but to try it with good friends. Also in time for Julius our very hard working Dental assistant's birthday :)

We went there July. Aaaah! this is such a late post but better late than never right.

Korean Style fried chicken, double fried and glazed. 

We dined at their Foodland Banilad Branch. They already have quite a few, in Lahug, Mango Square and in Mactan, this I have to see because I live in that island but never saw one. Maybe its located in beach areas, I don't know. But when I find that branch I will give an update.

We ordered their signature chicken, Chosun Chicken, thus the name of their restaurant and half of  the serving, spicy Gochu Chicken. We were glad to know that it already came with 2 servings/cup of rice. for Php 550. And Beef Bulgogi. 

The chicken was D E L I C I O U S! super. I got hooked. I had to go back and bring hubby to taste it and he was very happy I brought him because he loves chicken and spice.

Side dishes were served as well, coleslaw and what seems to be a raddish salad.

Though we only ordered 2 menus, their servings are huge. We even had plenty of left overs left. (happy me)

The waiters were very accommodating and attentive. The food was excellent. Their chicken is one of my new favorites now.

Abaseria

A few weeks ago, hubby asked me out on a lunch date. I wouldn't pass spending a delicious meal with my lovie because having lunch dates with him is almost non existent since his workplace is 2 hours away from the city. So when he asked me out because he was around the clinic's vicinity, I was super duper kilig and happy... hahahaha

We both love Filipino cuisines but hate crowded places, so we decided to dine at ABASERIA which is located at 39-B President Roxas Corner Congressman Noel Streets Villa Aurora Kasambangan Cebu City. When we got there I was surprised that it looked different now, the last time we were there was back 2008, but I love the new renovated Abaseria just the same. It still has it's native Filipino motif, the place is cozy and very homey.

They display a lot of  Filipino goodies from native hats, bags, home accessories to delicacies and if you find one for your liking not to worry because they are for sale.

The food was delicious and the service was great.

I forgot to take note of the prices but we will be going back there soon to try their best sellers, adobong bangus belly, seafood monggo soup, tofu with chilli, Chicken Pork Adobo, Humba Filipino, Baked Ribs with Ginger, and Lechon Kawali.

 Ah.... too many to try still we will definitely go soon and have this post updated. :)

Dong Juan

I've been away the blogsphere  for so long,  Boy, it's so nice to be back making a real post. :)

I mentioned last time that Lappy died on me right? And that's the reason I wasn't around. Well, She is not going to resurrect anymore as much as I want too. She's been with me for 4 long years and it's hard not to be emotionally attached to her. It feels so sad not to have her anymore. Anyways, before you think I'm weird I'll skip the whole drama and give you a delicious post for my come back. Weeeeeeeew!!! too many posts waiting to be published.

Have you been to Dong Juan?

The first time I tasted their Chorizo Pasta, I got hooked. The following weeks I can't stop craving for it. Seriously. Unlike me hubby is not a pasta person, good thing, Dong Juan serves super tasty burgers. And Hubby is a big fan of burgers. That gave me the reason to drag hubby to Dong Juan. I tell you he got hooked too...

So... we drag the two kids along. My nephew, Kuya I and our princess Little S. We went to the newly opened branch at the new mall Insular Square Mandaue City.

Their food is worth your money. As in sulit. A delicious meal that wont hurt our wallets.

As usual, I ordered Chorizo Pasta. I just can't get much of it. I'm super addicted to it. Even Maury, loved it.

Kuya I, had Cheese Burger. Yesterday , he just told me we have to go back. According to him "That's the best burger I have ever tasted"

We all had the famous lemon Ice tea in their unique bottles. It looks so cute, I wanna bring the bottle home heheheh....

Boy the food was so good, I'm thinking of going back there today already. This is another personal fave food joint of mine. 

I'm giving it two thumbs up.... But don't just take my word for it... Go and try it out for yourself.

Rainforest Park Cebu: Oceanarium Restaurant

Maury has been busy with work for the past few weeks and he kind of want to spend and make up for the times he didn't come home or if he does come home, me and Sophie are already asleep. Sophia misses her so much, if you remember I posted it here. I also miss hubby, I miss the little talks... We barely have 10 minutes of talk last few days. In one of our conversation he said,

"I wish money grows on trees."

I wish it too.... Don't you too? So we could spend more time with our love ones.

Anyways on the happy lighter note, Last Sunday night we went on a road trip to find a place to bond and eat. We ended up going to Rainforest Park Cebu because Sophia saw the Lion in their signage. She's obsessed with lions and she can't stop roaring.

Rainforest is a nice place for families to bond, it offers a different mix of entertainment. It has cafes, an Oceanarium Restaurant, Jungle adventure, and salon. I love the ambiance of the place, it's relaxing but what I love most is that it promotes nature and animals. 

We didn't have the chance to really explore the place since it was already late and we were all hungry so we went straight to the Oceanarium Restaurant.

Finally our food was served. But it was disappointing. The food taste OK/ so so BUT the price was ridiculously high for a so so food. We paid almost 1K for this. Not worth it.

My recommendation: go there to view the oceanarium,  you Just pay 50 pesos entrance fee. But go somewhere else to eat.

We didn't enjoy the meal but at least we enjoyed the hammock and kids enjoyed the place.

In effect of not enjoying the food, we ended up buying shaved ice and icecream after. 

All in all, we had a wonderful night. Kuya I and Little S got to see the fishes and other animals up close. Daddy wasn't feeling so guilty for working so hard anymore now that we got to have a quality time. Me, I'm happy to see my family happy. I value experience more than any material possession and I want Little S to grow up remembering these happy and fun moments together. That lasts forever...

The Big 3-0: Oyster Bay

My Birthday is on February 6. But my birthday celebration has already started.

Last friday Jan. 20, I celebrated my 30th birthday with my dear friend Ann who turned 30 herself last Jan 7, we met halfway to celebrate together along with good friends who are like family to both of us.

Ann and I have been friends for 6 years now, we started as dentist associates and now we are business partners but more than that we are very very good friends, heck I see her more than Maury, so we're basically family, we are sisters.  I only have few friends but I'm so proud to say that I'm surrounded with wonderful people who cares and loves me. Ann is one of those friends, I can tell her anything good or bad and she knows I only mean well and it's vice versa. No pretentions, we can tell each other anything and we know we are not judged. 

Yes we are 30... and fabulous still... Remember age is just a number. :)

We dined in at Oyster Bay. I love it there, especially when you are going to do a lot of catch up with friends. It has a good ambiance, a beach set up with coconut trees, sands, a lagoon and sharks. Yes sharks but only small ones and harmless. 

I'll give you a little tour first.

Tables with umbrellas are located nearest to the lagoon where the sharks are. The floor is covered with white sands. If you want to have a romantic date with Hubby, this place is really nice, you can star gaze together, have private sweet conversation and when 7:30 pm comes for fish feeding, you can go ahead and  feed them together. 

You can choose where to eat, they have tables inside the air conditioned room which can accommodate 80 people, or you can dine al fresco style like we did. 

Since Cebu is still hype with Sinulog, thus their centerpiece.

We were a group of  8 and we all fit in their low, orange, and very comfy couch. (which I wanna take home together with the outdoor table with umbrella)

Short Chika.

Me: As in. I can't believe I'm 30, I still feel like I'm 21...  

I remembered when I was still 23 fresh from Dent School, fresh from passing the licensure exam, I would have all my patients age 30 up to have their BP's taken. They always give me a shocking face, dropped mouth "WHAA"

I always ask them if they have maintenance drugs for Hypertension and Diabetes, again the shocking face and dropped mouth "WHAT"

Now, I'm 30 and I understand. 30 isn't that old pa diay noh? hahahaha...

Anyways, time for some birthday wish...  I'll blog about it soon

Sinangag Station

After we attended the 5:30 am mass at the Basilica Minor del Sto Nino, we headed to Sinangag Station to eat breakfast. Hubby and I usually eat at 6 am, by the time the mass ended our stomach was rumbling asking for food. 

What's in there? Sinangag of chors.

In one of their hanging ads, states NOW SERVING 25 HOURS OF GOOD MEAL....  25 Hours jud?

CHUR? Ngega gud.

Anyways, here is what me and hubby got. The walang kamatayang TOCILOG. 

I love the taste of their food but don't take my word for it, because I am such a Cilog person so if you say Cilog, I'm all " I like, I like"... so go and taste it for yourself. They are all around the metro but this particular station is at:

Side Trip: Co Jordan

It has been awhile since my dad asked us to have a road trip. He is a very spontaneous person and always game for fun. So when he asked me to wake up everyone because we are going to Parkmall he said, I obediently and excitedly abide, I don't want him to change his mind.... 

But when we were making the right turn to Parkmall, he told Maury turn left, to the opposite way and I asked him where we were going, he said " Laag Laag, Road trip".  It is so like daddy, I miss moments like this with him . I was once again like a little girl, watching the view from the window of the car patiently waiting for the special place daddy is going to take me. 

This time it was this place, Co Jordan in Tayud Consolacion

Daddy revealed that the real trip is to Tito Hermes house to have lunch because it was his 59th birthday but since it was stiill 10 am, we can still drop by at Co Jordan Talaba/ Bangus eatery for picture taking.

Cottages depends on the size they have for small groups worth 100 pesos for an hour, 150 and 500 pesos.

They also have videoke for rent and inside the bigger cottages there's a very cozy hammock and rocking chair.

We really wanted to have pictures taking only but couldn't say no to the food that was really mouth watering, after all the pork, ham, and feast we've prepared for the holidays... Mango, Budbud (suman), and Talaba taste soooo good right now. :)

If you don't want to rent cottages they have free tables and chairs were you can dine. That's where we ate since we only stayed for a few minutes.

Other things you can do here is, Fishing. You can buy whatever you fish for 160/kilo. I think the fishing itself is fun and I wanna learn how or at least experience it. You can also go boating for 100 per hour. Kuya I wanted to go but because we are short of time.... that has to wait.

We are definitely going back, and were definitely bringing Little S with us. And we are definitely going to try their crabs, shrimps, talaba and bangus harvests at around 8am- 4pm. And we are definitely going fishing and boating.... I'm going thirty this year and I'm definitely going to try whatever I want to try. Choz* hehehehe

I thank God for families....
