8 months old Sophia |
Piapie,
I can't count how many of my lipsticks you've ruined already. You always love to try things on your own. Mostly girly stuffs like mani and pedis and how you love to have same colors with mommy. You search my bag for make-ups and demands to put it on. In your cute little voice you tell me,
" look mommy, pretty pia"
Oh yes you are. With or without make up.
Now I find your curiosity cute. My little me, putting on make up. Putting mommy's stilletos, wanting mommy's bag and you wanting to have the same manis and pedis. You are so adorable. Today I let you explore, to feed your curiosity because that's the only way you learn best.
BUT sooner I might be discouraging you from doing the things that ONLY ladies should be doing... not because I don't want you to, in time we will go shopping for all those pretty things and mommy is already excited with the thought.
But for now, I want you to be your age... crazy hair, face full of icing/ icecream/ chocolates or whatever evidence of food you just ate, mismatched clothes, unpaired socks, in your diapers... without worrying about vanity and weight and hairstyles. Because everything has its season. I want you to enjoy every phase of your life and have good memories to look back.
Don't go rushing, savor each moment.
Love,
Mommy

I want to teach Sophia a lot of things and I'm scared I might miss out on the things I know now.
This post is for her.
For her to remember how everything was when she was still little
For her to never forget the values I want her to keep forever and most especially...
For her to know in her heart, the GREAT LOVE I have for her.

--bumibisita po. :) let's exchange links..
wow! that is cute, little pia wants to try the things that you wear and use..its right you let her try those things to for her curiosities sake...:)
I have the same thoughts as you. As much as I love seeing my little BabyLove doing the things I do, I will in time tell her that it isn't her time yet to do so. When I stroll around the mall, and find nail polishes and high heels made for children, all I can do is shake my head, and think that I would never encourage my little girl to use them. Not that I want her to, but I want her to enjoy her childhood as much as she can. And, it is now that we mold them on how they will be when they get older. So, if we let them, who knows how they would be acting when they get a little older, right? :)
Sophia's sooo cute! We moms don't get awards or recognitions like those given to dads/moms who do well in the office. Too hear our children say that "I want to be like Mom." is the closest thing to being awarded for a job well done.
someday your cute pia would be able to read this... you've got a cute angel there!
Adorable! My daughter does that too with my lipsticks, cheek stain etc.
Awww, so sweet of you Mommy!!! You are right to let her try on things. I don't have a daughter, can't really say I'll do the same or not. But for now, I agree with everything you said. Just the thought or our kids growing up is scary enough...... :)
Sweet note! Yep, savor each moment dear little girl.
She is so adorable with the lipstick on her lips hahaha... wish to have a kid..
S-s-sooo cute. and pia is a-pretty nga naman. pero mommy is correct, too. she'll have more time for that when she hits adolescence. ;)
so cute.. hehe little girls really likes to dress up like a grown up..
I was touched with this post. :D I, then, realized that kids love to explore on random stuffs, but when they grow up they will sooner realize if it was a great and nice thing or a great but terrible thing.
she's so cute..:)
I bet her fascination with girly stuff reflects her fascination with you.:)
Pretty Pia! The little ones wanted to be like their mommies. Sweet.
Hiya! Just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for the Liebster award! Head on to my blog post: http://dilettantesinglemom.blogspot.com/2012/09/lo-and-behold-i-just-received-award.html
and find out why! Please do check it out! I'd love for you to receive the award. :D Thanks!
I don't have a daughter but having a son who's eager to learn and grow up sometimes gives me heartaches. He's 9, and he's very independent lately. I'm proud because of his independence and confidence to do things by himself but at the same time hurt/emotional because he feels he needs me around less. I'm sure you'll be able to teach her what she needs so she could grow up as a fine lady just like you. :)
i love your sweet letters to your daughters... yeah, they're so in a hurry to grow up it makes me sad and proud sometimes
AT 8 months, she knew where the lipstick is for :) very girly...
Such a cutie pie! I have 2 girls. And i don't know what I'll do once they started to have their own decisions, huhuhu! Visiting from CommEx Sept11.
what a sweet note!
pia is such a delight
Oh didn't we all go through that? I still remember hanging out by my mom's dresser. For me though it was more about the shoes than the make up. :)
Darling sweet Pia! :)
